Adobe flash player for 64bit Ubuntu 11.04

Last week I switch my desktop to 64 bit Ubuntu 11.04 OS.Some people already warn me that if you install 64 bit you will get in to trouble and its difficult to find packages for 64 when compare to 32 bit OS.

To my surprise I was not able to find a flash player for 64-bit in adobe software Center. With the help of google I find a solution for this.

To install Flash Player, please go through the following set up :

These three commands might save you a lot of headache. They did for me!

    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sevenmachines/flash
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install flashplugin64-installer

If you want you can go for GUI way of installation

Getting started:

To get started, go to ‘Power –> System Settings’

Then select ‘System –> Ubuntu Software Center’

Next, select ‘Edit –> Software Sources’

Then select ‘Other Software’ tab and click ‘Add’. Next, type the line below into the box and click ‘Add Source’

Back into Software Center, search for and install flashplugin64-installer

After installing, go and test it !!!
